The Raman fiber amplifier is mainly used for long-distance unrepeated transmission between two communication sites. It is different from the amplification of EDFA. The gain medium of EDFA is erbium-doped fiber, which can be amplified only when the optical signal enters EDFA. The gain medium of the Raman fiber amplifier is an ordinary single-mode fiber, which sends an optical signal through reverse pumping. When the reverse light meets the signal light, it is amplified, that is, the signal light is at a distance of 50Km or more from the end The gain distribution area is formed, and the signal light is distributed and amplified. The device can maintain high standard CNR and EMR values after long-span transmission, providing an ideal solution for long-distance and long-span optical fiber transmission plan.

Through the reasonable selection of the pump laser wavelength, the C-band and L-band amplification can be realized simultaneously under the condition of extremely low noise figure and good gain flatness. This is currently the only device that can simultaneously amplify in the range of 1528~1610nm.
